Saturday

10:00 Memories Inks with Shelia Guidry

Shelia will demo the differences between alcohol inks,  Memories inks, Memories Hybrid inks, Memories chalk inks and Memories metallics.

 

11:00 Thunder Gourds with Jimmy Holton

Jimmy will discuss creating a thunder gourd musical instrument.

2:00 Metallic Paints with Patina Finish with Barbie Holton

Barbie will demonstrate painting techniques to create the look of aged metal.

 

2:45 Getting Started Equipment with Pat Kamler

Pat will talk about how it doesn’t take a large investment in tools and equipment to get started working on gourds.

 

3:30 Basic Gourd Cleaning  with Lu Hixson

Learn different methods of cleaning the outside and inside of dried, raw gourds. Different methods and tools will be discussed with a live demonstration.  Handouts will be available.

 

4:30 Gourd Bending  with The Gourd Sisters, Lindy & Ann

The Sisters will give a presentation and demonstration aboutthe technique they began working on in 2017. Gourd Bending - The art of forming, shaping and bending a hard shell gourd that has already been dried (cured). Handouts will be available.

 

Sunday

11:00 Pyrography Techniques (wood burning)  with Bill Decker Bill will discuss how he incorporates the use of pyrography into his fine art. Pyrography is the art of using a heated tool to burn lines and add shading to a gourd surface.

 

12:30 Basic Gourd Cleaning with Pat Kamler
